Rode up San Gabriel Mountain road today but couldn’t go to the top because I wanted to get home for dinner. I did however fall in love with the mountain. This is a much more relaxing climb than the brutality known as Mt. Baldy I climbed yesterday. I’ll be back tomorrow with more updates!

“I went for it because I figured I was so far down on the standings that “it wouldn’t be a priority for the GC teams to chase me. I wasn’t familiar with the climb so in hindsight it probably wasn’t the smartest tactic to go so early, especially with the headwind and flat sections, and that meant I paid the price a bit towards the summit. You have to roll the dice a bit if you want to go for the stage win though.” - Joe Dombrowski on today’s stage win at the Tour de Suisse

“We looked at each other standing on the podium, and I think we all were tearing up. But we had to keep it cool. I think we did. Then we let out a breath.”
